Since its establishment in 2022, The Hazelnut Movement has been committed to teaching children compassion for others, especially those with disabilities. 

 

In each school we visit, I guide students in identifying their challenges and the challenges of those around them as opportunities, empowering them to recognize and leverage their unique gifts. After hearing our message, students realize that we are all unique and deserving of compassion, as each of us possesses natural talents that are special and unique.

As a parent of two children in the NKH family, a fellow educator and a parent to public school children I empathize with the challenges of discussing special needs with children.

 

The Hazelnut Movement has actively bridged this gap by donating over 80 books to educators and delivering impactful assembilies in five different schools, promoting awareness and fostering open dialogue for children with special needs.
