At The Hazelnut Movement, we believe in the power of embracing our unique differences. Since our establishment in 2022, we have been dedicated to fostering compassion, inclusion, and empowerment in schools and communities nationwide.

 

Our Mission

 

Our mission is to inspire compassion and understanding in everyone we reach. Through our programs, children and adults alike walk away with greater compassion for themselves, their friends, and those affected by disabilities.

 

We help participants embrace the truth that we are all uniquely and wonderfully made—different on purpose, for a purpose. By fostering this mindset, we empower individuals to see their own value and the value in others, creating a world where every difference is celebrated.

 

Why We Do It

 

As a parent of two children in the NKH family, a fellow educator, and a parent to public school children, I understand the challenges of discussing special needs with young learners. That’s why The Hazelnut Movement bridges the gap through impactful storytelling, conversations, and assemblies that empower students to see disabilities as strengths rather than limitations.

 

What We’ve Accomplished

 

• Delivered 7 school assemblies in the past year, impacting over 2,000 students with a message of compassion and empowerment.

• Gifted more than 200 books to educators, equipping classrooms with stories that inspire inclusion and empathy.

• Donated over 80 books to educators globally since our launch, fostering open dialogue for children with special needs.

• $2 brings a life-changing message of hope to one child, teaching them that their greatest challenge might become their greatest superpower.

• $10 provides a book to an educator, inspiring inclusion and empathy in the classroom.

• $50 supplies inclusive coloring books to 25 children.

• $1,200 sponsors a school assembly, reaching 400–600 students with a powerful message of hope and empowerment.
