Creating Awareness — One Story at a Time

Here at The Hazelnut Movement, our goal is simple: to create awareness.

Awareness that there’s a real problem with the way the world often sees kids and adults who are impacted by disability. Too often, people don’t mean to exclude — they just don’t understand. But that’s where awareness begins to change everything.
This idea is rooted in the Five Stages of Changing Attitudes, and through our partnership with Luke 14 Ministries, each of our programs focuses on a different part of that journey.
At The Hazelnut Movement, our focus is on the very first stage — addressing ignorance.
Because when people understand better, they love better. ❤️
That’s why we’re passionate about creating tools and resources that help parents, educators, and kids start those important conversations. It’s also why we began writing children’s books — to open hearts and minds through story.
Our hope is that every child in every community experiences belonging — that they would know they are seen, valued, and wonderfully made on purpose.
And together, we’re helping make that happen. 💛
