You may have found our page because of one of these topics, but let’s take a moment to officially introduce ourselves and explain how it all fits together.
We live on a small farm in beautiful East Tennessee, where life is full of adventures. Our home is a cozy log cabin nestled on 5 acres, surrounded by chickens and buzzing bees. We’re passionate about farm-to-table living, so you’ll often find us collecting fresh eggs, tending to our bees, or creating something delicious in the kitchen.
Our family wouldn’t be complete without my husband, Aaron, who works as a paramedic. His heart for helping others extends beyond his job, and his dedication to our family and community inspires us daily.
We have two incredible kids, Hazel and Russell, who have a rare genetic disorder called NKH (Non-Ketotic Hyperglycinemia). They inspire us with their strength and joy. Russell’s story is especially meaningful—he was born prematurely at just 35 weeks while I was undergoing chemotherapy. By God’s grace, I’m now cancer-free, and every day with our family feels like a precious gift.
Beyond the farm, we’re dedicated to raising awareness and building community for families impacted by disabilities. Through our nonprofit, The Hazelnut Movement, and our involvement with Luke 14 Ministries, we’re helping create spaces where everyone feels loved and accepted.
We’ve also turned our passion for storytelling into books that promote disability awareness and inclusion. Our latest book, 20 Superheroes, celebrates the amazing abilities and resilience of kids with disabilities. Writing has become another way for us to spread a message of hope and acceptance to the world.
Thank you for being here and joining us on this journey. Whether you’re here for the farm life, parenting stories, or disability advocacy, we’re so glad to have you with us.
