This one mom’s words reminded me why I do what I do.

There are days I want to quit. Days I feel like I have quit. And then there are days that remind me exactly why I do what I do.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of sitting on a call with a school in Kansas—a group of principals and a PTO mom. As I shared about the Hazelnut Movement, the mom teared up.

At the end, I asked them: “If this program was a success, what would you hope the kids would be saying afterward?”

When it came to the PTO mom’s turn, her eyes welled up again. She said, “I have a child who is impacted by disability too.” Then she shared her heart—not only about wanting other kids to see her son’s strengths instead of his weaknesses, but about him being able to see that in himself.

That moment stopped me in my tracks.

This is why we do what we do as a movement. Because we are changing the way the world sees our kids. And for me, it makes all of it worth it—even if it was just for this one mom.

I like how you highlighted gratitude. Sharing I Love You Messages for Him is my way to thank my partner for daily efforts, big or small.
