I was sharing a story about it with the director of another nonprofit, and we were discussing how to measure impact. Let me tell you…
When tears are flowing—you know there’s impact.
When kids are asking questions and engaging—you know they’re eager to learn.
When the school invites you back anytime—you know your message hit home.

Impact is so hard to measure, and much of my work creates lasting change, making it even harder to quantify. But the day I walked into the YMCA after a program, and the kids yelled, “Hazel, Hazel!” I knew this message was resonating.
In our programs, kids start to see themselves and others in a new light. They begin to wonder if the things they struggle with might just be a superpower. They start to realize they were designed differently on purpose and that there’s an incredible purpose for their lives.

This is impact. 👆
