Since my earliest days, the allure of the stage captivated me. My childhood was filled with creative play, from making homemade workout videos to filming quirky deodorant commercials with friends. We were drawn to the thrill of performing and acting, expressing ourselves without bounds.🎭
In college, a public speaking class introduced me to the formal art of oration. While the topics didn’t always resonate with me, the seed of speaking on stage was firmly planted.🌟🎤
But here’s the crux: What would I talk about?
Fast forward to today. I’m a 36-year-old cancer survivor, a mother of two incredible children battling a rare genetic disorder, and the creator of a nearly 100k-strong TikTok community. It dawned on me: my story, my unique, God-given journey, was what I needed to share.
Yet, a lingering question remained: How could my story benefit others?🚀
To find the answer, I enrolled in a speaking bootcamp. Transitioning from college presentations and TikTok to a professional speaking career meant understanding the value my story could bring to others.
Day 1 of bootcamp was a challenge. I knew I could inspire, but what tangible impact did that have?
After seeking wisdom from my Facebook community, confiding in a friend, and turning to prayer, clarity struck.
My purpose is to help people unleash their God-given gifts by embracing their story and personal struggles! 🗝️
By sharing my own struggles and sufferings, I realized I was guiding others to recognize how their hardships can reveal and enhance their innate gifts. 🙌
Romans 12:6-8 beautifully encapsulates this:
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
Every story has a purpose, a divine intention to serve others through our unique gifts.
So, in this next chapter, I'm embracing my gift of inspiration, not just for the sake of it, but because it's a tool God has given me to empower you. To show you that your story, too, has incredible power and purpose.
